🌱 All Common Ground – Community Wish List & Housing Vision

Share Article

We’re not building a brand—we’re building a community. From shared meals to safe housing for men coming out of jail, All Common Ground is growing into something real. No one has to give anything to join, but if you feel called to help—through space, skills, or presence—we’d love to talk. This is about people, not profit. Community, not perfection.

To everyone who’s shown interest in what we’re building—thank you. Your presence and curiosity mean a great deal.

All Common Ground isn’t a brand or a campaign. It’s a movement of people committed to healing divides, listening deeply, and showing up for one another—in real life, not just online.

We’re currently meeting in a small office in Boone and renting space from the Shriners in Ashe County as needed. It’s not fancy, but it works. We’ll continue to meet wherever we can, for as long as it takes.

But if this movement grows—and we believe it will—we want to be ready.

🛠️ Community Wish List

We’re not fundraising right now. We’re simply putting the vision out there and trusting that the right people will find their way here.

If you or someone you know can help with any of the following, let’s talk:

  • Meeting Space — Know of a church, storefront, or industrial building we could gather in?
  • Land or Outdoor Space — A place to grow food (regenerative farming), host gatherings, or create a retreat space.
  • Home for Shared Use — A house or building that could become a homeschool hub, childcare space, or refuge for families who need support.
  • Housing for Recovery — See below—this deserves its own section.
  • Trade Skills and Tools — We need electricians, handymen, builders, gardeners, and anyone who wants to help make things beautiful and usable.
  • Food & Fellowship — We’d love to host shared meals and cookouts. If you garden, cook, or enjoy feeding people, you’re needed.
  • Tech & Storytelling Help — Video, podcasts, flyers, social media—we want to spread the word with heart and integrity.

🏠 A Note on Housing and Recovery

Many of the men we work with in the jail through Celebrate Recovery have no safe place to go when they’re released. We want to change that—not through institutions, but through community.

If you have a home or space you’d be willing to share for this purpose, we’d love to hear from you.

But we need to be clear:

  • This is not a business opportunity.
We’re not looking to fix up properties so they can be sold or flipped later.
  • This is about trust.
If a house needs work, we’ll consider pitching in—but only if the home is truly being offered for long-term community use. We’ve seen too many people burned by situations that began in generosity but ended in profit-seeking.
  • This is about presence, not perfection.
We will use whatever we have, however humble. A safe, sober space with love and accountability matters more than appearances.

This is sacred work. And it’s only possible when people offer what they have with open hands and honest hearts.

đź’¬ No One Has to Give to Join

Let’s be clear: you don’t need to provide anything to attend. We’ll continue to meet in our little office as long as it serves us.

But if something here stirs something in you… reach out. Or just come by. That’s how a community begins.

Together, we’re building something rare.

🕊️ Different views. Shared humanity. Real community.
